About Me

At my alma mater, the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.

This buzzword may be overused, but it is the best way I can describe myself right now – a multipotentialite. Someone pursuing a range of interests, and always looking to learn. My core interests are art, writing, and building social media profiles for my clients. I currently work as a freelance social media specialist, an artist focused on animal art for conservation, and a partner in a vacation rentals business on the Kenyan coast.

I set up this blog as a way to archive highlights of my travels, and observations I don’t want to forget. Living in different countries has been a part of my life from the very start, and I felt it important to have a space to keep the stories and details that stood out the most. When everything is fascinating, it can be easy to lose track of the things that inspired awe when you first encountered them.

This blog documents photos and stories from some of my most recent travels and homes – Vancouver, San Francisco, Nairobi, different safaris around Kenya, and most recently Diani.
I moved to Diani in December 2017 with my husband, to start a vacation rentals business. Interacting with tourists, and being a bit of a tourist myself, this has proven to be an excellent learning experience.

I’ll be sharing sketches of my observations now, focusing on Diani and extending to wherever I may travel in the future. There is a lot of good information and many travel guides out there to help you plan your travels, and I intend to leave that function to them for now. What I aim to do is encourage you to pause and pay attention to the details, which is what I believe art invites us to do. I hope you enjoy these snapshots, and focus on taking in different experiences as you check destinations off your bucket list!
